Awesome light if you're looking for a fun DIY project to mount it safely where it won't fall into the aquarium. After wiring this thing up, I'm pretty sure its not aquarium safe, so if you're not the type that would use a flood light for an aquarium, maybe find some lesser light. the unit is 45cm long, so the brackets are useless on anything less than 50cm wide and greater than 85cm; expect to use the pendant mount kit or make your own bracket at that point. That all said, this light gives you way more control than any aquarium light on the market I've seen and can be connected to the app for scheduling and higher color functions than the remote offers, with a little work deciphering the instructions, and to google home or alexa for voice control. This thing is blindingly bright and I run it around 60% power max with the 8A powersupply it came with (will take up to 15A if you're trying to blind your fish + a room full of people). Not a newbie light, but definitely a great RGB+CCT light panel! This light claims to be an aquarium light. While it is definitely bright enough for that, I was not expecting to have to wire this light to the power source. This leaves wiring partially exposed, which did not seem safe to place directly over an aquarium exposed to humidity and at risk of falling in if I accidentally bump it. I opted to return it primarily for this reason. A few other problems with the light:The light also emits an incredible amount of heat, making it too hot to touch after only being on for a minute or two.The instructions are written in terrible English, and, given the amount of wiring and setup required to get the light turned on and connected to the remote control, this was also problematic. The remote is clunky and not made specifically for the light. There are function buttons that are not used on this light. The light emits a high pitched noise that was noticeable even behind the hood of my aquarium.Overall, this light was certainly bright and customizable. It probably has uses, but aquarium lighting is not one of them.
